Wow. I wish I could leave my review at "wow" because that accurately sums up how I felt upon finishing The Cull Vol. 1. This book is A LOT, but in the best ways possible. It's dark, emotional, tense, and fascinating, all in one.
Manga Monday: He’s Expecting Vol. 1
Every now and then, you come across a series that makes you stop. He's Expecting Vol. 1 was the most recent series to do that to me. It's a great concept with a lot of potential to help people reassess their biases.
Series Binge: Witch Hat Atelier Kitchen #1
It makes sense that Qifrey would be quite busy in the kitchen. After all, he has a hoard of young apprentices to keep fed! That task is often easier said than done, given the variety of tastes and palettes he must work with on any given day.
Review: Once & Future Vol. 1: The King is Undead
So, I read Once & Future as the comics came out for the longest time. Unfortunately, I lost the thread at some point (despite loving the series), so I will read through the backlog before trying to get caught up! Hence why I'm reading Once & Future Vol. 1.
WOTN Review: Sea of Stars #5 (Image Comics)
Sea of Stars #5 brings us back to the insane journey that Gil and his son, Kadyn, have been thrown into. This entire series has been an emotional rollercoaster. It takes the whole father/son dynamic and throws it into space. And thus, it adds a surprising amount of twists along the way.
Review: Your Throne Vol. 1
Huh. This is not how I expected Your Throne Vol. 1 to go, but I have to admit that I love the twists. One volume in, and this series is already surprising me left and right! I can't wait to get my hands on the second volume (thankfully, I don't think I'll have to wait long).
Review: Nights Vol. 1
Okay, wow. There's a lot to take in while reading Nights Vol. 1. It reads like an ordinary paranormal story (is there such a thing?)...at first. But the more you look at it, the more you realize that everything is different.
Manga Monday: Small Nozomi and Big Yume Vol. 1
Huh. Small Nozomi and Big Yume Vol. 1 is an interesting start to a quirky series, to say the least. Both characters have a lot of backstory, though it will take some time before it is all revealed (remembered?).
Series Binge: Fire Force Vol. 10
And so the battle continues onward. The battles are really layered at this point, aren't they? We have the fight against the Infernals, those behind the Infernals, and now Shinra/Sho. It's a lot, but at least you won't get bored reading Fire Force Vol. 10.
Flashback Fridays: X-Men Vol. 1
X-Men Vol. 1 is another powerful addition to this famous series. I think I read at least half the single comics in this volume, if not more. But I'm happy to have read them in this compiled version, and I look forward to reading the rest.
