Every time I dive back into this series, I’m reminded of why I love it. My Next Life as a Villainess is such a silly and lighthearted series. Even while Katarina is dodging Doom Flags, it never feels like the world is actually going to fall apart.
So, I’m behind on the times here. I watched the Netflix adaptation of I Am Not Okay with This and was SO MAD when they cancelled it. I wanted to know where that cliffhanger ending was going to take us.
As an anthology, Dawn of X Vol. 1 collects six issues, ranging across different series. Naturally, this means that while there’s (probably) something for everyone, not all of it is going to hit. I can already tell there will be subplots I love, and some subplots I’ll be happy to get through.
Before I dive into my review, I just want to say that I had previously read through most of the Hugo Strange arc when the comics were first released. So most of Harley Quinn Vol. 2 isn’t new to me, and honestly, I’m tired of the Hugo arc.
