Spencer & Locke is one series that hooks you in from the start. And the follow-up, Spencer & Locke 2, has been the same. This is the perfect read for anybody wanting a series with a seriously dark twist. Trust me, this series will never fail to surprise you with the twists and turns it takes.
Review: Lies My Teacher Told Me: A Graphic Novel Adaptation
I'm SO excited that Lies My Teacher Told Me is getting a graphic novel adaptation! I hope this makes it even more approachable to a larger audience. That said, I sat down and read the original novel in preparation for the graphic novel. Yes, I wanted to read and compare the book that compares history books. It seemed appropriate.
Manga Monday: Gachiakuta Vol. 1
Oh! What an interesting start to a new series! Gachiakuta Vol. 1 kicks off a new series by Kei Urana, who happened to apprentice under Atsushi Okubo. Obviously, I had to give his work a try! Thus far, I'm not disappointed.
WOTN Review: Something is Killing the Children #12 (BOOM! Studios)
The times seem to keep getting darker and darker in Something is Killing the Children #12. It's an impressive feat, given the title and nature of the series. This is a world where monsters are real and very hungry.
New Release Review: Spy x Family Vol. 11
I'm just going to come right out and say it – this series keeps getting better and better. Spy x Family Vol. 11 might be my favorite thus far. Then again, I've been dying for more Spy x Family, so my excitement might be biasing it just a bit.
Review: Eden
Eden tells the story of one desperate family trying to survive. Interestingly, their desperation comes in many forms. Gabe is a dreamer – he wants to see the good in everyone and everything. His wife is a realist – she'll look at everything in the worst light, so at least she'll never be disappointed. Meanwhile, their daughter is a tech genius who just needs to be given a chance to flourish.
Manga Monday: The Apothecary Diaries Vol. 1
Where has this series been all my life?! Okay, I know I'm being a little dramatic there, especially as I'm a few years behind on checking this series out. But it's perfection! The Apothecary Diaries Vol. 1 is a fantastic start to a series.
Series Binge: The Way of the Househusband Vol. 5
The Way of the Househusband continues to be a delightful and often hilarious read, even five volumes in. I can see why it's so popular (and why it has both an anime and a live-action series). It's so easy to relate to the characters, even when their backstories are so wildly different from our own.
WOTN Review: Something is Killing the Children #11 (BOOM! Studios)
The terrible tale of monsters hunting in one small town continues in Something is Killing the Children #11. Despite Erica Slaughter's best efforts (She didn't get that name for nothing!), the monsters are still rampaging.
Review: Star-Crossed
Humanity has been discussing first contact with aliens for as long as we've daydreamed about space. In the far-flung future, that time is finally here. The Eo'Tax is an advanced civilization, and they're willing to work with humans to reach an understanding.
