Radiant Black is another series I’ve been meaning to pick up for years, but hey, at least I’m only like, four or five years behind on this one! But seriously, I’m glad I finally sat down and gave this one a try.
Wow. I love the Absolute Universe. It’s given different creative teams a chance to create whole new spins on beloved characters, and the one for Superman did not disappoint. Absolute Superman Vol. 1 introduces a different history for both Kal-El and Krypton. It also portrays a very different Earth, for that matter.
So, obviously, I’ve been into the whole “Absolute Universe” from the moment it was announced. I loved the idea of taking classic DC Heroes (and hopefully, villains) and turning the stories on their heads. Having read most of what’s currently out there, Wonder Woman’s take is my favorite (so far).
