Ahhhh! Where has this series been all of my life? But seriously, I’m loving Villains Are Destined to Die. It’s a darker isekai, but I think it works well. I’m always on the edge of my seat, uncertain about what the world will throw at Penelope next.
WOTN Review: The Tower in the Sea
The Tower in the Sea is the latest graphic novel showcasing the stunning world of Ismyre. Here is a world where seers and ordinary magic are commonplace – yet for many, it is still an illegal subject to teach or learn. Not that this has ever stopped anybody.
Review: Vincent: A Graphic Biography
I've always been enthralled by Vincent van Gogh's artwork and story. As such, I think I've read over a dozen biographies about the artist (no, really; I'm pretty sure my family preorders every new one that comes out, knowing it'll make a good gift for me). So, obviously, I had to nab Vincent: A Graphic Biography while I had the chance!
Manga Monday: Insomniacs After School Vol. 1
So, hrm. I both love and hate Insomniacs After School Vol. 1. No, wait, that's too strong. Really, I just struggled to get into the swing of things. It's a decent read, but it's clearly not my cup of tea. So, take my review with a grain of salt.
Review: Solo Leveling Vol. 8
I have to give it to the creator; Solo Leveling always finds ways to surprise me (even though I always feel like I have a solid grasp of the story). Solo Leveling Vol. 8 brings us back into the fold, but the world seems to be changing and changing fast.
WOTN Review: The Mighty Valkyries #1 (Marvel Comics)
Coming out of the battle against Knull, the Valkyries are back and going strong! The Mighty Valkyries #1 is an issue perfect for all Valkyrie and Jane Foster fans out there, especially as a new/old heroine comes to the forefront.
Review: The Book of Bill
Hahahaha! Sorry, had to get that out of my system (if you know, you know). I only recently got hooked on Gravity Falls, but my timing was perfect because The Book of Bill dropped.
Review: Castle Swimmer Vol. 1
Oh goodness. I went into Castle Swimmer Vol. 1, not really having any expectations (I didn't read the Webtoon series), and holy cats! This series has so much heart it's impossible not to fall head over heels for it.
Manga Monday: The Perks of Being an S-Class Heroine Vol. 1
I love diving into new fantasies, and lately, I've been on an isekai kick. Thus, I was happy to find The Perks of Being an S-Class Heroine Vol. 1. I've actually read a bit of this one already (on Tapas, I believe), but it was nice to have a whole volume in my hands.
Review: The Evil Secret Society of Cats Vol. 1
It’ll come as no surprise to hear that The Evil Secret Society of Cats Vol. 1 is both cute and funny, in equal measure. This volume/series is perfect (purrfect?) for all cat and manga lovers for obvious reasons. (It also reminds me that I need to check out that Gat+Gamer series).
