Wow. I love the Absolute Universe. It’s given different creative teams a chance to create whole new spins on beloved characters, and the one for Superman did not disappoint. Absolute Superman Vol. 1 introduces a different history for both Kal-El and Krypton. It also portrays a very different Earth, for that matter.
Here marks the end of the (well, this) Darth Vader series. It was a good run, and overall, I really enjoyed it. This series could be read as a standalone or alongside the main Star Wars plot. The whole series, from start to finish, occurs between A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back, and until now, I hadn’t really thought about what occurred in that time span.
Hooolly cow. There's a lot to process after finishing Once Upon a Time at the End of the World Vol. 2. First, let's just say that this series does not pull punches. Given that Jason Aaron is at the helm, that's actually not all too surprising. But it is worth noting.
The world is coming to an end. Most of the time, that's a figure of speech. But that isn't the case here. The planet is dying, destroyed by an environmental disaster. The few people that survived are struggling to keep on going.
