Eeee! Sorry, but I’ve been waiting months (MONTHS) for Spy x Family Vol. 12, and it’s finally here! I’m so excited, to put it mildly. The cover had me hoping that we’d maybe be getting more backstory about Twilight’s handler, but even if we didn’t, I knew I’d enjoy the story.
Review: Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees
I picked up Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees on an impulse. The description and cover are so incongruous (intentionally so) that I knew it was worth reading. I was not disappointed. That said, don't dive into this book without understanding that you WILL be getting a woodland version of Dexter.
Review: Crave
I'm not going to lie – I 100% picked up Crave to read because of that cover. It's stunning! I knew right away that I would love Maria Llovet's art style, and I was right. While I didn't end up loving the whole of the story, I did appreciate the art the whole way through.
Flashback Fridays: X-Men Vol. 3
Once again, there's so much going on in X-Men Vol. 3 that it's borderline overwhelming. Thankfully, the writing and characters are so powerful that this isn't off-putting. Additionally, it ensures a plot for everyone (how could there not be?!).
Flashback Fridays: X-23: Innocence Lost
I remember reading X-23: Innocence Lost ages ago. But recently, I've been craving a re-read of all things X-23, so here I am! But seriously, this volume hits hard. Honestly, a lot of origin stories tend to hit hard, but Laura's is especially difficult to read.
Flashback Fridays: Resident Alien Omnibus Vol. 1
Upfront confession: I did not read Resident Alien before the TV Series came out. It was actually the other way around. I watched (and loved) the show, so I wanted to see what the source material looked like.
Flashback Fridays: The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl Vol. 1: Squirrel Power
Despite being a big Marvel fan girl, I have never sat down to read all of The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl. I know; shame on me. I'm here to fix that, I promise! I have the entire series stacked right next to me as I write this.
Flashback Fridays: X-Men Vol. 2
Once again, X-Men Vol. 2 delivers on the promises made by this new series. Hickman has brought new life to the X-Men, and I am all sorts of here for it. I know it won't last (no comic arc does, much as we'd like that to be untrue), but I will enjoy it while I binge it.
Review: Space-Mullet Vol. 1: One Gamble at a Time
Okay, if you pitch a series to me and describe it as Firefly meets Cowboy Bebop, but with a twist – you know I'm going to read it! Enter Space-Mullet Vol. 1. This is the first volume in a new series, and I've got to say – it's got SO much personality. If you're looking for something new to check out, be sure to give this one a try.
Review: Hovergirls
From the moment I first saw the cover of Hovergirls, I knew I had to read it. The artwork looked so fun and captivating; it gave me a lot of hope for the characters and story within.
