Valkyrie #8 is the start of a brand-new plot for Jane Foster. 'At the End of All Things' is a plot guaranteed to pull in at least one other fan-favorite character, as you can probably guess from the cover of this issue.
Over the years, I’ve learned that I’m terrible at reading/watching a lot of the classics. You know, the stories that affect pop culture for years to come? I’m trying to remedy that. So here I am reading Ashita no Joe: Fighting for Tomorrow 1. I should probably plan on checking out the anime, too, right?
When Jane Foster signed up for the job (or is it calling?) of Valkyrie, the odds are pretty good that she never expected to take on such a quest as this. In Valkyrie #7, Valkyrie is forced to step up and heal the most unexpected of patients.
I don’t know why, but while I was reading A-DO 1, I felt like this story I should have read/heard about ages ago (like when I first got into manga). Either it just has that vibe, or this is a new translation of a classic. I could see it going either way.
Jane Foster: Valkyrie. It has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it? Not that Jane ever wants her identity to be revealed to the public. In Valkyrie #6, Jane works with various characters, from the iconic legends to some surprising throwbacks.
Okay, this is a cute story. Number Call may not be the deepest of romances (at least initially), but it is cute and sweet. Basically, our two leading gentlemen meet because of their name similarities (both being the number eight).
It's safe to say that there's been a bit of an adjustment period for Jane Foster. First, she was Thor, and now she's Valkyrie. And Valkyrie #5 reminds us of all she's been through – while showing us how much farther she still has to go.
Jane Foster is still getting the hang of this whole Valkyrie thing. And we can’t exactly blame her for having a bit of trouble catching on; after all, she’s the last Valkyrie out there. That’s why Jane is seeking out advice in Valkyrie #4.
Ohhhh! Somehow, this series keeps getting better! At this rate, I will run out of manga and resort to light novels (the horror! Just kidding). Anyway, I’m trying to say that The Apothecary Diaries Vol. 9 was a delight to read.
Valkyrie #3 was every bit as striking, epic, and emotional as fans were expecting (thanks to the dramatic conclusion of the second issue). Jane Foster is still trying to get the hang of being a Valkyrie, but the lack of knowledge hasn't prevented her from being there for her friends when they need her most.
