As a HUGE fan of Darkhawk, I was so unbelievably excited by the news that the series was getting a reboot. Yeah, I'll be sad to see Chris go, but it happens, right? Plus, I already adore Connor Young. I've always felt that Darkhawk was a seriously underrated character, so it's nice to see him getting some much needed love here.
I can't believe we're already almost at the end of this series. Darkhawk has been a whirlwind of a read. It introduced a new hero to pick up the mantle of Darkhawk, and so far, it has not been afraid to take bold risks with his origin story. These risks have paid off, as I am now fully invested in Conner Young's story.
Guys, I still can't believe this is real. Am I reading an all-new Darkhawk series? Yes, yes I am! This latest series had handed the mantle to a new hero, and I am all sorts of here for it. Granted, at this point, I would have been willing to accept almost any change if it meant Darkhawk would grace the pages once again...
So, I know I'm a bit late for this train, but pardon me as I fangirl all over the place! Darkhawk is one of my favorite Marvel heroes (Okay, that's probably a longer list than I would like to admit...). I also feel like he's a hero that gets way too neglected in the comics. So, naturally, I'm thrilled about the news of this latest series, even if it is only five issues long (for now).
This year marks the 30th anniversary since Darkhawk, aka Chris Powell, first entered Marvel Comics. Now, here we are celebrating his character in Darkhawk: Heart of the Hawk #1. It's refreshing to see Darkhawk getting a chance to have a solo issue once again, as it has been far too long since we last saw his face.
This month marks the 30th anniversary of the one and only Darkhawk. So it's only natural that we (and by we, I mean the fans and Marvel Comics) celebrate by enjoying a new issue! Darkhawk: Heart of the Hawk is an issue I have been waiting years for, and I wish I were kidding.
