Mikami's life hasn't gone quite the way he planned – or hoped. Sure, he has a decent job (even if it is going nowhere). But that's about all he has to brag about. Unfortunately, his life is about to go further downhill when he gets in the way of a man wielding a knife.
Manga Monday: Noragami: Stray God Vol. 1
Some gods come into existence knowing their purpose. Others...not so much. Yato is what one might call a stray god. He doesn't have a shrine, let alone any worshipers. He hopes that he can change that if he answers enough prayers (aka jobs).
Manga Monday: Falling Drowning Vol. 2
So, I might have let too much time pass before reading Falling Drowning Vol. 2. It took me the whole first chapter to get back into the swing of things. So don't make my mistake! Or reread volume one before diving in—either works.
Manga Monday: The Transcendent One-Sided Love of Yoshida the Catch, Vol. 2
So I enjoyed the first volume of this series and thus went into The Transcendent One-Sided Love of Yoshida the Catch, Vol. 2, with super high expectations. Those hopes were slightly dashed, sadly, as this volume just doesn't hold up to the first.
Manga Monday: Love After World Domination, Vol. 1
Okay, Love After World Domination, Vol. 1 is a seriously funny and cute series. You'll probably enjoy this series if you love forbidden romances with a sense of humor and an overall light touch! Given how many dark series are out there, I appreciated this lighter read.
Manga Monday: The Girl, the Shovel, and the Evil Eye, Vol. 1
The Girl, the Shovel, and the Evil Eye, Vol. 1 begins like many other Isekai/reincarnation stories – with a sad background followed almost immediately by death. That bit really shouldn't be much of a surprise to anyone, though it did a good job of quickly setting the tone.
Manga Monday: My Maid, Miss Kishi, Vol. 1
Kiichiro Hayase is extremely wealthy and successful, but he wouldn't survive a day without his maid, Miss Kishi. The truth is that he is an exceptional klutz, so his maid must follow him around and clean up after him. It's a perpetual problem.
Manga Monday: My Wonderful World, Vol. 1
Oh wow. I went into My Wonderful World, Vol. 1, not knowing anything about it (I like the occasional surprise, so going in knowing nothing can be fun), and wow! I was blown away. Poor Shinobu. It's easy to empathize with this protagonist and all of his struggles.
Review: Hella Chill Monsters, Vol. 1
We've heard hundreds of variations of what the afterlife can bring us. Now it's time to see a new take on Limbo, aka Limbo City. To some, it's a perfectly fine way to spend eternity. For others, like Bonzo Scalobania, it can get quite dull.
