Summary:
In the world of My Hero Academia, approximately eighty percent of the population (and growing) have been born with quirks – unique superpowers. Midoriya is part of the twenty percent group – born without a quirk. He never let that destroy his dreams of becoming a hero, and look at him now!
Becoming a hero is no simple process. That is why schools such as U.A. exist. This latest volume showcases our students’ next level of training as Class 1-A and Class 1-B duke out to see who’s best.
My Review:
Yes! The Joint Battle Training arc is one of my favorites, so this was a lot of fun to read (re-read). Ever since we first met them, I had many questions about Class 1-B. I feel like this arc finally gave those characters a chance to shine while giving us an opportunity to (finally) learn about their quirks.
It was everything I had hoped for! Though I certainly wouldn’t have complained about more. I know this arc will flow into the next volume, so I look forward to reading the rest of it. I imagine everyone has their favorite fights from this training – I know I do.
My Hero Academia Vol. 21 also provides additional insight into what is happening in the hero community. We have one hero striving to be the number one hero the world needs (that he has always wanted to be) and another hero fighting through the mud (metaphorically) to support those around him. I love the international comparisons made here.
