Summary:

In a world where witches, minions, and tainted souls exist, there must also be those that stand against them. These people are known as Weapon Meisters and their Weapons. They are charged with devouring tainted souls and protecting the world.

The unthinkable has happened, and now Medusa is making a play for one of the strongest (and first) Kishin ever known to man. Will the team be enough to stop her plans, or will this kick off a new age of danger for humanity?

Review:

So, between volumes five and six, we have one of my favorite Soul Eater arcs, possibly of all time. It’s a dramatic arc but has some highly emotional scenes and even a few humorous points. In other words, it’s pretty perfectly balanced.

Soul Eater Vol. 6 starts amid a series of fights. We have so many good fights in process, and all have something different going for them. My favorite fight is the one against Crona, but honestly, they’re all good!

I should probably mention that there’s also a lot (and I do mean A LOT) of fan service in the arc. It’s a silly little side event happening, but it doesn’t involve any of the meisters or weapons if that’s any consolation.

The ending for this volume is always a surprise, and that’s good. I’ve read this series a dozen times, yet I’m looking forward to reading what happens next.
