Summary:
Momo Ayase and Okarun have an unlikely origin in their friendship. It started as a moment of solidarity, which quickly morphed into a heated debate (the usual: UFOs or ghosts). Now, they’re bound for life, even if they don’t quite realize it.
It all started as a little bet. Each wanted to prove the existence of the supernatural to their new friend, and neither was willing to listen. This quickly turns to chaos as a haunted tunnel and horny aliens get thrown into the mix.
Review:
Dandadan Vol. 1 is a chaos-fueled blast, and I am here for it. This volume is a lot, and I mean that, mostly in a good way! We have a quick rundown of the characters and their backstories, and then we’re off to the races!
Momo and Okarun have one of those instant friendship situations, thanks mostly to the situation they put themselves in. That said, I’m rooting for them – they’re fun. I should probably mention that said situation involves creepy aliens (who don’t understand the concept of consent) and a fair bit of fan service. So consider yourself warned.
The curse is fairly interesting, as are its unintended side effects. I feel this will get pushed to the limit in future volumes, and I look forward to seeing how it turns out. This series is perfect if you like the supernatural and humor in equal measure.
