Summary:
Jinwoo Sung has a reputation among the other hunters and dungeon adventurers – he’s known as the Weakest Hunter of All Mankind. However, one job changed everything. It should have been a regular dungeon, but it quickly became life-or-death. Somehow Jinwoo survived – but he’s forever changed. Now, he’s working hard to level up and change the game.
Heading to America will bring about changes and stakes that Jinwoo is unprepared for. Or perhaps it’s the other way around. First, there’s Dongsoo Hwang in the way, but there’s more lurking in the shadows.
Review:
So, there’s a lot to process thanks to Solo Leveling Vol. 10. It throws Jinwoo (and thus, readers) into the deep end of politics, and unfortunately for him, there doesn’t seem to be a politics stat he can beef up.
I’m thrilled this arc has finally come around, as it’s setting up for us to see Jinwoo’s reaction to the news about his dad. It feels like that has been building in the background for ages now, and I really need to see where it goes.
Admittedly, the pacing felt off here and there during Solo Leveling Vol. 10. Maybe it’s just me since it’s been a moment since I got to read Solo Leveling. More likely, it’s the change of location and some added concerns.
The emotional stakes and reaction (thanks to the Jinho subplot) are top-tier, and one hundred percent the highlight of this arc – so far. I have no doubt that there will be more to come.
