Summary:

Kim Dokja has spent the last several years reading a webnovel. That doesn’t make him terribly unique, does it? What’s more interesting is that he’s the only reader of this webnovel – and it’s about to end.

As a reward for being the only reader of this series, he gets an alert, an edge, and a downloaded copy of the series. That in itself shouldn’t have been life-changing if not for what is about to happen to the world…

Review:

Yikes. The Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint Vol. 2 is an intense read, to put it mildly. The series is set in a normal-looking world – before it all changes forever. Now, the survivors are in a life-or-death struggle.

The stakes and events of this world should feel familiar – they’re a combination of video game world events and streamers garnering attention. It’s an odd foundation, but it works really well for the most part.

I do have so many questions about this world and its main character, Dokja. For example, he mentioned that all seers would be disadvantaged because once they changed a single event, they would no longer know what was coming. Wouldn’t the same logic hold true for him? Certainly, he’s changed the world enough simply by surviving it. I’ll have to keep reading to see.

Overall, the world is very meta, but in a fun way! It plays with different action and gaming tropes to great effect, and I’m looking forward to seeing what the next volume will bring us.
