Summary:

It all started as a little bet. Each wanted to prove the existence of the supernatural to their new friend, and neither was willing to listen. This quickly turns to chaos as a haunted tunnel and horny aliens get thrown into the mix.

The crew has a new member, or so it seems. Somehow, Momo has been put in charge of Vamola, or at least getting her safely to school. That’s easier said than done, especially as they accidentally ran through a cursed area. Oops.

Review:

Ah, yes, I missed the chaos of this series. Dandadan Vol. 10 continues a familiar story but throws many new twists in the mix. Starting with Vamola (introduced in the last volume, I believe), plus a new supernatural problem, courtesy of a curse and a mirror.

Naturally, that’s only the beginning. Dandadan is famous for its brand of chaos, but it also has a lot of character development and drama. Vamola added plenty of that to the group dynamics, as her focus falls on one or two characters, while others vie for her attention. Typical teenage drama ramped up to the nth degree.

That said, I really enjoyed this volume. The whole curse scene actually came with a bit of a bonding moment, which was refreshing to see. I’m glad we’re not doing the standard “she’s my enemy” route, or if we do, it’ll be for a reason other than the obvious.

This volume does end on a cliffhanger, as a series of battles begin but aren’t wrapped up for the volume runs out of time. So keep that in mind and have Dandadan Vol. 11 ready to read!
