Summary:
Gwen Stacy of Earth-65 has a new home in New York City…of Earth-616. She was supposed to be in hiding, but she has somehow collected her very own new antagonist! And crossed paths with dozens of Spider-themed heroes. So much for keeping her presence under wraps.
The Black Tarantula is proving to be quite a threat, weaving his way through the criminal underground. Worse, he’s primed to make a major change in the city, and almost all that most people can do is sit and watch in fear.
Review:
I still have so many questions about what is going on in Spider-Gwen: The Ghost-Spider, so I was excited to get back into this series. Also, I adore Gwen, so I’m happy that she landed another solo series.
Spider-Gwen: The Ghost-Spider Vol. 2 brings familiar faces to the forefront, including Mister Fear and Jessica Jones. The latter is not something I was expecting, but I do love the idea of a Gwen x Jessica team-up. Can we get more of that, pretty please?
The romantic subplot is still in full swing, and I’m conflicted about it. On the one hand, enemies-to-lovers can work really well. On the other hand, I’m worried that the relationship won’t have enough time to develop in Gwen’s solo series. I guess only time will tell.
Overall, Spider-Gwen: The Ghost-Spider Vol. 2 is a fascinating addition to the story. I’m curious about where it’s going to lead next, as there’s clearly at least one more (major) twist in store for us. If we’re lucky, there will be more than that.
Highlights:
- Ghost-Spider
- Now in Earth-616
