Summary:
The time has finally come for Poison Ivy to return to Gotham City. More importantly, it’s time for her to come back to Harley Quinn. She’s also taking Janet from HR along for the ride, and that’s not going to end in a thousand complications.
Ivy’s return home is far from peaceful, as Killer Croc immediately sets her on an investigation of a new high-rise in Gotham City. Something is deeply wrong about this building, but Ivy can’t quite put her finger on it.
Review:
Yes! Poison Ivy is back in Gotham, and back with Harley! You love to see it. I know that Poison Ivy will probably continue to leave Gotham here and there, but it’s good to see her coming back home, even for a bit. I’m also ticked that Killer Croc has been thrown into the mix, as he balances this unique group quite well.
Poison Ivy Vol. 3 may have brought Ivy back home, but that doesn’t mean she’s done trying to understand herself. If anything, coming home has kick-started a new investigation into herself, and I am here for it. Batman, not so much. On that note, I do love how this series portrays Bruce.
The cover probably makes it pretty clear just how horrifying this volume gets, and I’m not going to pretend otherwise. This story hits hard, throwing horror after horror at Ivy and crew. It pushes everyone to their limits, Ivy most of all.
As always, the artwork in Poison Ivy Vol. 3 is absolutely stunning. It’s horrifying at times, but still stunning. It’s the sort of artwork that never quite leaves you.
